About Institut SinaranInstitut Sinaran started in 1987 as Sabah Tshung Tsin Pre-University Centre to provide affordable, internationally recognized Pre-U qualifications locally. It was upgraded to an institute on 14 July 2002. Our excellent track record of academic performance has garnered the confidence of the public and Institut Sinaran has long been established as the biggest Cambridge GCE A-Level Centre in East Malaysia.   Old Campus at Jalan Damai In 2006, we started our own Diploma in Commerce which has been fully accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), with credit transfer to many universities locally and abroad for direct entry into 2nd year of business related degree programme. This is to provide an alternative pathway for students to continue their studies in universities or to enter the workforce with their diploma. 2008 was another milestone forward as we were approved to be the first South Australian Matriculation (SAM) centre in East Malaysia. We were prompted by our observation that many students are furthering their studies in Australia and doing the matriculation locally would be very cost effective. The SAM programme is also internationally recognized. The 11 month programme is very timely for February intakes in universities worldwide. The combination of school based assessments for assignments and the external exams, provide a more holistic approach to assess students' abilities and to prepare them well for rigorous studies in university. Our good image and reputation as a provider of quality and holistic education at an affordable cost is further enhanced by our commitment towards the growth and development of our students through participation in extracurricular activities. Our democratic culture of free campaigns and elections for our Student Council nurture our students to be effective and dynamic leaders of tomorrow. Institut Sinaran was formerly situated along Jalan Damai, but has moved into our beautiful new campus at KM 10 between Tuaran Bypass and Jalan Sulaman since 4 January 2010. It is now strategically situated near University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and 1Borneo Hypermall in Kota Kinabalu. The pleasant, peaceful and well laid out campus ground provides a conducive learning environment. The well equipped science and computer laboratories, well-stocked library, comfortable and air-conditioned lecture rooms and lecture halls, complemented by the experienced, qualified, dedicated, caring and approachable teaching staff, all contribute towards making learning in the Institute a pleasant and rewarding experience.
